What is Kids Teaching Kids?

We are a student-run nonprofit that hosts free online courses throughout the year for elementary and middle school students. Our community-based approach covers English, science, history, math and more. We believe in creating a strong academic base and introducing supplemental lessons in an engaging way.

About Us

Who Is "Kids Teaching Kids"?

Around April of 2020, students began attending school online. And while working from the comfort of home had its perks, the amount of education a child received decreased. It wasn't the same.

So, a few teenagers gathered to make a small difference. Every Friday, just for an hour, they'd have two lessons for little five or six-year-olds to enjoy. Over time, the number of teachers increased, as did the number of students.

We chose the name "Kids Teaching Kids" because, well, we're not exactly professionals. But we work to achieve our goal of creating an engaging and educational learning experience for young kids. We simplify complex topics to make learning both fun and effective, ensuring every child can benefit from our resources.

Currently, we offer a variety of courses in areas like writing, biology, and math. These classes are designed to provide valuable student learning resources in an engaging format. We welcome you to experience our classes and discover if they're the right fit for your learning journey.

How It All Began

From a small Friday afternoon video call to a thriving nonprofit — here's the KTK story.

2020

Spring 2020

Founded During the Pandemic

In April 2020, as schools shifted online, a group of local 8th-grade students decided to act. They hosted simple Friday sessions for kindergarteners two lessons, a little warmth, and a lot of heart.

2021

2021 Growing

Expanding the Team & Subjects

Word spread. More student volunteers joined, enrollment climbed, and subjects expanded from basic literacy to math, science, and more.

Becoming a Nonprofit

KTK officially incorporated as a student-run nonprofit with a formal board a President, Vice Presidents, and Marketing Director, all high school students.

Ayaan Garg

A sophomore at ABRHS who likes to play tennis and learn new math concepts. He loves to research and code, and has participated in numerous math-related state competitions. Whenever classmates are stuck, Ayaan is always willing to help!

A Junior at ABRHS with deep interest in biomaterials and engineering. Has played soccer competitively for 10 years, plays piano, and loves teaching STEM courses to young students!

A sophomore at ABRHS who loves soccer, basketball, volunteering at a local church, and is involved in science research, robotics, and debate. Excited to support younger students through KTK!

Aanya Garg

Aanya is currently in 8th grade at RJ Grey Junior High School and loves learning, especially when it comes to math and science. She has participated in several math competitions, where she has learned a lot and enjoyed participating in. When she's not studying, you can find her playing tennis, reading, or listening to music. Aanya often helps her classmates who are struggling and explains it to them. She is excited to support students to learn and grow through KTK!

A passionate leader bringing KTK to Livingston, New Jersey, dedicated to expanding free educational opportunities to more students.

Passionate about building AI-powered software, exploring technologies, and creating products that solve real-world problems. He enjoys teaching computer science at KTK and is always looking for opportunities to make an impact.

Dallas (TX) Chapter Head

Srikrishna Nuvvula

A sophomore at Rock Hill High School in Texas with a big interest in computer science and artificial intelligence. Active in debate, DECA, TSA, and Red Cross. Enjoys coding, playing chess, and basketball.

Lexington (MA) Chapter Head

Saina Joshi

An 8th grader at William Diamond Middle School (Lexington) who is passionate about math and solving problems. Has competed in Mathcounts Chapter Competition and the AMCs. Enjoys cooking, baking, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.

Westford (MA) Chapter Head

Anjaneya Aggarwal

A rising sophomore at WA who enjoys Math, Science, and Business. Qualified for the International Career Development Conference as part of DECA and is a competitive swimmer.

As a varsity volleyball player, he has developed strong teamwork, discipline, and communication skills both on and off the court. He enjoys exploring research opportunities and is always eager to learn something new. Known for being outgoing, approachable, and kind, Krithan values building meaningful connections and creating a welcoming environment for those around him. He is excited to contribute to KTK and make a positive impact through service and collaboration.
